Target shoppers reported issues with the company’s website and app Friday amid the final days of the major holiday shopping rush.
Users took to social media to question issues they began experiencing Friday morning and afternoon involving the Minnesota-based retailer.
“@Target what’s going on with your app and website? I placed an order and was charged but I never got the email confirmation for the order and I get an error when trying to check my order on the app and online,” one user wrote.
“@Target placed a pickup order this morning on the app, app was down, and now that the app is back up, there’s no history of my order. yet my credit card is showing a pending charge still for my order. does my order still exist? or will the pending charge fall off?” another commented.
Downdetector showed a spike in issues for the company Friday, with Chicago among the hotspots. At 11:30 a.m. more than 1,200 error reports had been reported.
In a message to customers, Target confirmed it was experiencing “intermittent issues” with its “digital experience,” but said a fix was underway.
“In the meantime, our stores continue to be open and ready for holiday shopping. At Target, our top priority is offering a great guest experience. We apologize for this disruption and will provide an update as soon as possible,” the company wrote around 10:30 a.m. on X.
Two hours later, however, no update had been given.
