The Chicago Bears looked like they were dead to rights on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers, but Caleb Williams had other ideas.
The Bears were down 16-6 in the fourth quarter of the game when they got a field goal from Cairo Santos right before the two-minute warning.
Santos then executed a beautiful onside kick that Josh Blackwell recovered, and on a fourth-down play in the red zone Williams found Jahdae Walker in the back of the end zone to tie the game at 16-16 heading into overtime.
After a fumbled snap on fourth down cost the Packers the ball, the Bears had an opportunity to make some history against Green Bay, and Williams did exactly that:
On a first down play, Williams uncorked a gorgeous pass that D.J. Moore hauled in for a game-winning touchdown catch, sending Soldier Field into a delirious frenzy as Chicago beat their hated rival.
The win moves the Bears to the brink of a playoff spot, which they can secure with a Detroit Lions loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
If the Bears win one of their final two games, they’ll secure an NFC North title for the first time since the 2018 season, which they clinched with a win over the Packers at Soldier Field.
