The winning Powerball ticket that made one Illinois Lottery player $1 million richer after Monday’s drawing was sold at a gas station in Deerfield, Illinois Lottery announced Tuesday.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Mobile gas station located at 650 Waukegan Road in Deerfield, Illinois Lottery said. The identity of the winner has not yet been publicly announced.
The player matched five white ball numbers to earn the $1 million.
The winning numbers from Monday night’s drawing were 3–18–36–41–54, with Powerball 7.
Illinois Lottery is encouraging all players to check their tickets carefully.
They fell just short of matching all six numbers to win the Powerball jackpot that has climbed to $1.7 billion —the fourth largest lottery prize in U.S. history if won.
Another Illinois lottery player won $100,000 Monday by matching four numbers plus the Powerball and opting for the Power Play feature, according to Illinois Lottery. Seven others won $50,000.
