A shooting on Christmas Day left three women injured in suburban Aurora, police said Friday.
At approximately 8:08 p.m. on Thursday, officers with the Aurora Police Department responded to a report of a shooting along Sunset Avenue near Oak Avenue, police said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found three women who had been shot.
The victims – who are 34, 36 and 55 years old, were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police stated. According to officials, Aurora police detectives responded to the shooting and were investigating the circumstances surrounding what occurred. Unspecified forensic evidence was collected at the scene by evidence technicians, police stated.
The investigation remained underway as of Friday afternoon. Anyone with information was asked to call the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at 630-256-5500. Tips can also be submitted to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 or online. Cash rewards of up to $5,000 are offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to felony arrests.
