The Chicago Bears will return to Soldier Field for their final game of the season next weekend and the time has finally been set.
Just moments after Chicago narrowly lost to the 49ers after an intense and eventful primetime matchup, it was announced the Bears would take on the Lions at 3:25 p.m. CT for their season finale.
The Bears are already NFC North champions, but Sunday’s game will still hold plenty of weight as the Bears vie for the No. 2 seed.
A Bears win — or an Eagles loss — would mean the team secures No. 2 status and plays the Packers at Soldier Field in the playoffs.
The Bears kept hope alive until the final seconds of Sunday’s game against the 49ers, but the 42-38 loss ended the team’s hopes of earning the top seed.
Caleb Williams went 25 for 42 for 330 yards and two TDs, but couldn’t deliver at the end after already leading the Bears to an NFL-record six comeback wins after trailing in the final two minutes of regulation.
Neither defense could slow down the opposing offense for most of the night after a pick-6 by Chicago’s T.J. Edwards on the first play.
