Southern California Amber Alert issued for 3-year-old child

An Amber Alert for Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties was in effect Tuesday for a 38-year-old man and a 3-year-old child reported missing after they were last seen in Los Angeles.

Joshua Pendleton and Messiah Evans were last seen on 66th Street and Normandy Avenue at approximately 10 p.m. Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities said Pendleton abducted the child.

Pendleton is Black, 5-feet-11 inches tall, weighs 265 pounds, and has black hair and hazel eyes. Messiah is Black, 3-feet tall, weighs 50 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a burgundy onesie.

Authorities say Pendleton was believed to be driving a white 2006 Saturn VUE with a license plate number 5SHE918.

Anyone who sees either of them was asked to call 911.
