Police are investigating two home break-ins that happened within minutes of each other and about a mile apart in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday night.
The first break in took place on the 12000 block of Hatteras Street in Valley Glen around 9:20 p.m.
Police responded to the home after the alarm was set off. When they arrived, they found that the lights were off at the home and the power had been cut off.
At least two burglars broke in through a glass door in the back of the home and left before police arrived, according to authorities.
When the homeowner returned, she said she found her safe opened and her jewelry scattered.
The incident was being investigated as a burglary. There were no details available on the suspects.
The second incident took place at around 9:30 on the 11000 block of Hesby Street in Valley Village.
No residents were home during the break-ins in both incidents. It was also not clear if anything was taken from the homes in both cases.
Police have not confirmed if both incidents were connected.
