An armed man was detained in Rancho Palos Verdes near the Trump National Golf Course after a concerned resident called authorities.
The man, armed with a semi-automatic AR pistol, a loaded revolver and other weapons was spotted running through traffic on Palos Verdes Drive.
According to the Lomita Sheriff’s Station, the man was also seen on nearby trails in the area wearing rifle-rated body armor, gloves, carrying a rifle, a duffle bag, and even a step stool.
Deputies detained 36-year-old Sean Steiner of Glendale, Arizona and booked him on multiple felony firearm charges.
Steiner’s rifle was loaded with a round in the chamber and a full magazine inserted, authorities said.
The rifle was painted in a Joker-style colors of purple and green with phrases like “Why so serious?” and “Let’s put a smile on that face” painted on it.
Deputies said Steiner also admitted that he had recently fired one of the pistols near the landslide area to “get some anger out.”
“An armed individual, firing a weapon, walking through traffic and trails… in a populated area. Because someone spoke up, deputies were able to safely detain him before anyone was hurt,” the department said in a social media post.
At the scene, deputies recovered a short-barreled semi-automatic style rifle (AR pistol) with the tip painted orange resembling a toy gun, two loaded handguns, a high-capacity magazines, extra ammo and a ballistic vest capable of stopping rifle rounds.
