A man and a woman were arrested for “a series of graffiti incident” on state property across Los Angeles County, the California Highway Patrol said on Friday.
Herman “Woody” Sanchez was arrested Thursday for acts of vandalism, including graffiti on public property and infrastructure such as traffic signs. Investigators said they found evidence linking Sanchez to the suspected crime.
Maria Angela Mendez Jones, 19, is an accomplice, the CHP said, and she was arrested also in connection with the incidents.
“Acts of vandalism against public property will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be held accountable,” Captain Geller said in a statement.
The damage caused by the suspects is estimated to be tens of thousands of dollars, according to the investigators.
The evidence collected from the two suspects belonged to the state of California, as well as Los Angeles and Burbank, the CHP added.
