Temperatures in Southern California will soon dwindle and the change in weather will be accompanied by the chance of some showers early next week.
The transition to cooler conditions could come as soon as Sunday, NBC4 Meteorologist Kelly Moody said. It’ll be a gradual cooldown initially before the difference is noticeable.
“Now, those temperatures won’t be too much cooler, but it’ll be enough that you’ll notice the difference between today and tomorrow,” Moody said. “But then you’ll really notice the difference once we get into next week because that’s when we’re expecting rain chances to return.”
Low pressure off the coast of California is what’s bringing the forecasted change. In some areas of the Southland, the cool temps will be minimal, while other parts will shift dramatically.
“That’s going to be a cooldown that ranges anywhere from 5 to even up to 20 degrees in just a matter of a couple of days,” Moody said.
Although the exact timing of the rain chances is fluctuating, forecasts show that showers could creep into the region on Tuesday. Although this won’t be a strong storm, the rain is expected to travel east and cross its way toward the Inland Empire.
