Police are searching for a possibly armed suspect after a shooting threat was made at the Westfield Culver City mall on Saturday afternoon.
Officers received a call about a man who claimed he was about to start shooting at the mall around 3:15 p.m., according to the Culver City Police Department. When they arrived, they found a person who matched the suspect description.
The suspect, who is believed to be armed and described only as a man in his 30s, left on foot, police said. The search is happening in the area of Slauson and Hannum avenues, near the 90 Freeway.
The police department is asking people to avoid the area at this time.
Officials say no injuries have been reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
