A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a Burbank home that left a woman dead and another injured, police said Tuesday.
Details about what led to the stabbings were not immediately available. The women, identified by neighbors as a mother and daughter, were transported to a hospital, where the mother died, police said.
Neighbors told NBCLA that the mother was an elementary school teacher in Burbank. The daughter is a well-known mental health advocate, the neighbors said.
The stabbings were at a house in the 2800 block of North Brighton Street, where police tape was still around the home early Tuesday.
Several police SUVs and a fire truck were seen at the residence. Officers appeared to be taking items out of the home.
Detectives were speaking with neighbors and looking for security camera video.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the Burbank Police Department’s Investigation Division at 818-238-3210.
