Federal agents served warrants Thursday morning in an investigation that involved Mexican Mafia gang members in parts of Orange County
The targeted operation resulted in arrests, including several of people associated with the gang, after law enforcement officers from several agencies descended on locations in Santa Ana, Anaheim, other Orange County communities and parts of southern Los Angeles County, according to Anaheim police.
The early morning operation was coordinated by the Orange County Violent Gang Taskforce and part of a two-year investigation into gang activity.
The case involves nearly four dozen criminal indictments on charges of murder extortion, robberies, drug trafficking, gun possession and other crimes.
More details were expected at a Thursday morning news conference.
