The Chicago area may have escaped the brunt of a winter storm hammering parts of the country, but snowfall totals are still piling up around the region.
The city itself has been especially hard-hit, with lake-enhancement of that snow billowing into the city off of Lake Michigan thanks to northeasterly winds late Saturday and into Sunday.
Other parts of the area have still seen some accumulations of snow, with more expected before the system pushes out of the area in the late morning and early afternoon hours.
Finally, that lake-effect snow is expected to make its way into northwest Indiana as Sunday progresses, which could lead to some accumulations there.
