A woman suspected of stabbing a man barricaded herself inside an Apple Valley home before setting it on fire Friday morning, authorities said.
Deputies responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at a home in the 15900 block of Washoan Road just before 9 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
When they arrived, they found a man with stab wounds who was able able to get out of the home. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, the sheriff’s department said.
Officials say the suspect stayed in the home and set it on fire, prompting nearby neighbors to evacuate as fire crews worked to put out the flames.
One person was found dead inside the home, according to SBCSD. Their identity was not released as of Thursday afternoon.
