Woman in custody following barricade in Panorama City hospital

A woman was taken into custody after she had barricaded herself in a hospital in Panorama City early Wednesday, law enforcement confirmed to NBC4 Investigates. 

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the Mission Community Hospital emergency room at around 1:40 a.m. 

Police say the woman had arrived at the hospital seeking some kind of treatment, but it was not clear what it was.

The woman was armed with a knife and was threatening security officers, LAPD said. 

She later barricaded herself inside of a bathroom in the lobby and refused to come out.

The woman was later taken into custody. No further details were immediately available.
