Four people were arrested and more than 50 pounds of copper wire were recovered in two Culver City thefts.
The recent copper wire thefts were in progress when officers arrived at the scenes, Culver City police told NBC4 Investigates. Details about where the thefts occurred were not immediately available.
Four people were arrested on suspicion of grand theft-related crimes.
Police provided NBC4 Investigates with photos of the stolen copper wire, which thieves target for its high value at scrap yards. The thefts can result in infrastructure damage, including street light outages and other power cuts, and costly repairs for businesses and municipalities.
