A standoff in Beverly Hills prompted a large law enforcement response on Sunday afternoon.
The Beverly Hills Police Department said it received an Automated License Plate Recognition alert about a felony vehicle at around 1:30 p.m. and located the pick-up truck near San Vicente and Beverly boulevards.
A pursuit, which started after officers tried conducting a traffic stop, ended after the truck collided with another vehicle near Burton Way and Robertson Boulevard, according to police.
As of 5 p.m., officers were still trying to negotiate with the people inside the suspect vehicle to come out, the BHPD said. Video from the scene shows a SWAT team, fire department personnel and other law enforcement responding.
Several streets were closed due to the activity, and police were urging drivers and residents to avoid the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information arrives.
