Two Chicago police officers were hospitalized with minor injuries and COPA is investigating after a police-involved shooting in South Chicago.
According to authorities, the officers were conducting an investigation into stolen vehicles in the 8100 block of South Merrill at approximately 11:32 a.m. Thursday when they spotted a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was occupied at the time, and as the officers approached the driver of the vehicle attempted to flee, striking a CPD squad car.
An armed suspect then attempted to flee the scene on foot, and a CPD officer fired their service weapon, officials said.
No one was hit by gunfire, and ultimately two juveniles and an adult were taken into custody.
One of those juveniles was taken to an area hospital where they were treated for an abrasion to their hand.

Police investigating the scene recovered two firearms and two stolen vehicles, according to officials.
In accordance with department policy, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability will investigate the shooting, and the officer who discharged their weapon will be placed on desk duty as that investigation is underway.
