Kim Kardashian’s shapewear and clothing brand, SKIMS, opened a new flagship store in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood Friday.
The new store, located at 1000 North Rush Street, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays, according to the SKIMS website.
To celebrate the opening, exclusive merchandise only available at the Gold Coast store will be available, the company said, and the location will carry exclusive drops — including NikeSKIMS — throughout the year.
The store opened in a 6,500 square foot space that formerly housed a 1960s bank, the company said.
“Chicago boasts such incredible style and a vibrant community, and opening our first flagship here feels incredibly meaningful,” Kim Kardashian said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to introduce SKIMS to the city, inviting the community into a space that pays homage to Chicago’s storied architectural heritage while highlighting our signature design language, immersive experiences, and the complete assortment in person.”
SKIMS also has a store in the western suburbs at the Oakbrook Center, located at 634 Oakbrook Center.
“Chicago is an exciting market with a vibrant local community, and this flagship gives us a dedicated space to deepen those connections – showcasing our full collections, delivering exclusive in-store offers, and creating memorable experiences for our customers,” Jens Grede, Co-Founder & CEO of SKIMS.
Final touches were done to the exterior of the store Tuesday, as shown by video and photos captured by an NBC Chicago photographer.
A large rectangular SKIMS statue could be seen outside the store.
