Police in suburban Arlington Heights Thursday morning asked community members to stay away from certain areas “until further notice,” with an active investigation underway.
About 8:34 a.m., the department posted a message to social media saying there was a large police presence in the 800 block of North Chestnut.
“We are asking the community to stay out of the area at this time until further notice,” police said in the post.
Police added that all schools in the area were notified, and that there was no immediate threat to the public.
