Days after 20-year-old Alysa Liu ended a 24-year Olympic women’s figure skating gold medal drought, she returned to the rink Saturday for an incredible performance at the Winter Olympics Exhibition Gala.
Rocking a new bedazzled dark blue dress and matching choker, Liu gave a flirty and fun performance to PinkPantheress’ viral remix to her song “Stateside” with Zara Larsson at the Exhibition Gala.

The Exhibition Gala was described by Olympian Mariah Bell as an “opportunity for skaters to go out and perform a program that is not judged. All of the rules and regulations that apply in competition do not apply in the exhibition gala, so you can go skate for as long or as little as you want, to whatever music you want, to whatever costume you want.”
The event took place from 1-3:30 p.m. CT Saturday at the Milano Ice Skating Arena.
Liu won gold in the women’s free skate on Thursday, bringing an end to two Olympic droughts that have lasted roughly the length of her entire life.
Prior to her win, the U.S. had not had a woman medal in figure skating since Sasha Cohen in Turin in 2006. And no gold medals had been won since Sarah Hughes at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Liu, 20, was born in August 2005.
After her gold medal winning performance, Liu spilled some details about her Gala performance.
“I’m going to do the Olympic Gala performance and I’ll have a new program to ‘Stateside’ by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson, the remix,” she said. “I’ll have a new dress and I’m going to perform once again on the big stage.”
Alysa Liu shared what she plans to skate to at the Olympic Gala performance.
