The 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics officially came to an end on Sunday, and all eyes are immediately turning to the next host of the Games.
This year’s Olympics made history as the first to be hosted in two separate cities, with both Milan and Cortina serving as cohosts of the event.
Now, with the more than 2,900 athletes set to head home and all the medals awarded, here’s what you need to know about the coming Olympics.
Where will the 2030 Olympics be held?
The IOC officially held its vote to ratify the 2030 Olympics host during the 2024 Games in Paris, and the body officially selected the French Alps to be the host site for the next edition of the Games.
The venues will primarily be located in several clusters, including in Nice, where the closing ceremony is expected to be held.
Some of the venues will be familiar to fans of the Olympics, as they were used during the 1992 Games in Albertville.
Final details are still being worked out for several locations of events, with clusters near Savoie, Haute-Savoie and Briancon also hosting events.

Have the 2034 Olympics already been awarded?
The United States, which last hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002 in Salt Lake City, were awarded the 2034 Games, which will return to Utah’s capital.
Those Games will be the fifth hosted by the United States, with Lake Placid having served as host in 1932 and 1980 and Squaw Valley hosting in 1960.
Where will the next Summer Olympics be held?
The United States will serve as host the next time the Olympics are held, as they will host the summer edition of the Games in 2028 in Los Angeles.
Brisbane, Australia will be the host in 2032.
