Police are looking for an assailant in a red car who opened fire, shooting a man and his dog Tuesday morning in Chicago’s West Pullman neighborhood.
It happened about 7:25 a.m. in the 300 block of East 117th Street, according to police.
The victim, a 50-year-old male was outside with his dog when a gunman exited a red car, approached on foot and opened fire, hitting the man in the abdomen and buttocks and the dog in its shoulder, police said.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was in good condition. The dog was also in good condition, police said.
The shooter returned to the red car and sped away.
Area 2 detectives are investigating.
