Chicago police are investigating after a drive-by shooting in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood left a 13-year-old girl critically wounded on Friday night.
At around 9:44 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot along South Cottage Grove Avenue near East 38th street. Police said a 13-year-old girl was standing outside with a ground of friends when someone fired from a light-colored sedan.
The victim was shot multiple times and taken to a local children’s hospital. She was reported to be in critical condition, according to Chicago police.
The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle and hasn’t been apprehended.
Area One detectives are investigating.
