The Chicago Bears will reportedly sign Seattle Seahawks safety Coby Bryant to a deal, bringing a Super Bowl champion to the city.
Multiple reports from NFL Network and ESPN indicate the Bears have signed Bryant to bolster their secondary, which is facing some questions as several key players enter free agency.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Bears will sign Bryant to a three-year, $40 million deal.
Bryant has had back-to-back strong seasons for the Seahawks, with 66 combined tackles, a forced fumble and seven passes defended during the 2025 campaign. He also registered a career-high four interceptions, giving him seven in the past two seasons.
The Bears are facing some uncertainty at safety this season as both Kevin Byard III and Jaquan Brisker are entering free agency.
There has been talk of the Bears trying to retain Byard, but Brisker will likely be given the chance to explore the free agent market, forcing the Bears to look elsewhere for help at that spot.
Needless to say, Bryant represents an upgrade at the position given his key role in helping the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots. He registered 10 combined tackles and two passes defended during the postseason for Seattle as they won their second Super Bowl title.
