A Chicago-area father who has been missing since just before Thanksgiving was found dead, his daughter said Tuesday.
Davis, 59, was found dead on March 9 on the border of Alsip and Blue Island, according to Thomas Wogan, a city administrator for Blue Island.
He went missing on Nov. 24 after he was in a car crash while on his way to work at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park. After the crash, he declined medical attention and a responding officer drove him to the bar.
Video showed Davis stayed at the bar for about an hour before taking off on foot in the early morning hours of November 25.
Wendy Davis, Dan Davis’s daughter, used social media to spread the message of the search for her dad and organized search parties for months after he disappeared.
He was spotted on Ring doorbell cameras, looking dazed and disoriented while walking. He was last seen on camera on November 26 outside St. Donatus Church, located on the 1900 block of Union St. in Blue Island.
Near the end of 2025, the Cook County Sheriff’s Department bought a dog out to trace his scent, but it stopped near a fence-lined rail yard in Blue Island.
“The City extends its sincere condolences to Mr. Davis’s family and loved ones during this difficult period,” Wogan said in a statement.
Wogan said an investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Blue Island Police Department.
No additional information was immediately available.
