A Chicago police officer was hospitalized after he was struck by gunfire while driving in the Pullman neighborhood Saturday.
The police sergeant was on-duty and driving a marked squad vehicle in the 11200 block of South Corliss at approximately 11:11 p.m. when gunfire rang out.
The sergeant was shot in the leg by gunfire, and was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
Responding officers were able to place a suspect into custody, and a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
Detectives are investigating, and no further information was available.
