Multiple people were taken to area hospitals after mace was deployed at a Chicago high school Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, paramedics were called to South Shore High School on Tuesday afternoon for reports of students being sickened by mace.
Upon arrival, paramedics transported a total of eight individuals to area hospitals for treatment, with five patients refusing hospitalization.
There was no immediate word on the condition of those affected, nor how many of the affected were students or teachers.
