The westbound lanes of the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway in Kane County were shut down due to a police investigation on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Total Traffic and Weather Network, the lanes were closed between Illinois 47 in Sugar Grove and Keslinger Road near Maple Park. The closure was reported at around 3:15 p.m. and remained in place later in the afternoon.

Illinois State Police Troop 3 posted on X all lanes of the interstate were shut down for an investigation. The eastbound lanes were later reopened.
Extensive backups were reported between Peace Road, west of Maple Park, and between Route 47.
