Major delays were reported Tuesday evening on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway after a crash shut down a portion of the interstate near Hoffman Estates.
According to the Total Traffic and Weather Network, all eastbound lanes were blocked at Beverly Road at around 6:45 p.m., with traffic backed up to Illinois Route 25. Drivers were advised to expect delays of up to two hours.
Significant backups were also reported in the westbound lanes.
Video from the scene showed a heavy emergency response, including firefighters, an ambulance and Illinois State Police.
Details on the crash, including how many vehicles were involved and whether they were any potential injuries, haven’t been released.
