Suburban Prospect Heights police are investigating after a body was found near the Chicago Executive Airport on Sunday.
According to authorities, officers were called to the Palatine Frontage Road just after 9 a.m. for reports of an unconscious male.
The man was found lying next to a fence along the viewing area at the airport. Authorities said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of the discovery, the westbound lanes of the frontage road are closed between Milwaukee Avenue and Wolf Road, according to police.
The preliminary investigation indicates the death may have been the result of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle. No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made.
