Interstate 5 north freeway closed due to police activity, causing traffic delays

An ongoing police response on northbound Interstate 5 shut down the freeway at Del Mar Heights Friday afternoon.

The police activity began just after 11:30 a.m. and was ongoing at 3 p.m. The freeway was backed up to Sorrento Valley Road as a result. Drivers should expect delays up to two hours, according to SigAlert.
