SWAT team circles home in Oceanside

A police tactical team has been called in to assist with a suspect who has barricaded themselves inside a home in Oceanside.

Oceanside police responded around 10 a.m. Tuesday after someone called 911 to report a woman yelling at the home in a cul-de-sac at Fallingleaf Road, OPD spokesperson Gina Avalos said.

Police said a suspect was actively barricaded inside as of 12 p.m. and an OPD SWAT team was leading the response. It was not immediately clear what crime the individual was suspected of.

The Oceanside Fire Department was also at the scene. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department initially responded to assist but has since been cleared.
