Dead woman found floating near Coronado Yacht Club

First responders were called out Wednesday morning in Coronado after a witness reported spotting a body floating offshore.

Coronado police officers were called out a little after 11:30 a.m. to investigate the incident in Glorietta Bay. According to investigators, passers-by spotted a woman, who was unconscious, in the water and pulled her to the dock at the Coronado Yacht Club.

Members of the Coronado Fire Department who responded to the incident attempted CPR for several minutes but were unable to resuscitate her.

The victim has yet to be identified, but she was 62 years old at the time of her death, according to CPD.

The woman’s death is part of an active police investigation, authorities said in a news release issued on Wednesday.
