Woman hit and killed by Loudoun County bus

A woman has died after a Loudoun County Transit bus hit her Monday evening, authorities say.

Alyssa Kakol, 34, was hit on Croson Lane near Moorefield Boulevard outside the Ashburn Metro station just before 6:30 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said.

Medics took Kakol to a hospital, where she died.

Kakol was from Purcellville, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash reconstruction unit of the sheriff’s office is investigating. Authorities didn’t give any further information about what happened.
