Quang Hang, a 78-year-old Virginia man who went missing Dec. 1, was found dead, a family spokesperson confirmed to News4.
Information regarding the circumstances of his death have not been released. Virginia State Police cancelled its critically missing adult alert Monday, saying Quang Hang had been “recovered.”
Quang Hang left his Chantilly home about 2:30 p.m. to take his car, a 2007 red Toyota Camry, to a mechanic in Leesburg but never arrived.
“He has not taken his medicine since Monday. He is missing five doses. We are incredibly concerned for his safety, for his health,” his daughter tolf News4 when he went missing.
Betsy Hang had said she thought her father, who suffers from memory loss, took a wrong turn and started heading away from Leesburg.
Police say an image of his car was captured on George Washington Memorial Parkway near Slater’s Lane at 4:50 p.m. that day. Forty minutes later, an AirTag on his keychain marked its location on Old Colchester Road in Lorton.
Then, nothing.
“It’s dark. He was lost. He doesn’t know where he’s going. We really need the help of the community,” Betsy Hang had told News4 during the search.
