Warmer weather, springing forward, Washington Spirit in their blossom kits and Instagram buzzing about great local coffee roasters … we are so ready for the weekend!
Colorful days are ahead, with green on parade for St. Patrick’s, yellow for Spirit Fest and the whole rainbow for Holi.

Celebrate Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, at Dupont Circle Park’s festival, co-hosted by the Embassy of India!
Enjoy a dance performance, then join in on throwing colored powder in a celebration of spring. The Indian Embassy will provide masala chai and traditional sweets. Sat., noon to 4 p.m., free
We asked Neha Singh at the Embassy of India for pro tips. Here’s what she shared:
- Wear white, but not your best white
- Powder is made from ground-up flowers; it washes off of you
- Stay to learn some dances
- Try traditional foods
- Order your powder ahead of time (presales for the official event are over)
