4 things to know about the weather:
- Warming trend begins
- Friday night showers
- Mainly dry, mild weekend
- Chilly start next week
Finally, milder air is on the way. Wednesday was 14° colder than average making it the coldest day, compared to average, since Feb. 9.
Southerly breezes will help get temperatures back near average Thursday afternoon even with quite a bit more cloud cover. Plan for the mid-50s Thursday.
High pressure over the Tennessee Valley will help bring us even milder weather for Friday and the weekend. Clouds will continue to thicken all the way into Friday afternoon leading to periods of rain from roughly 5 p.m. Friday until sunrise on Saturday.
Friday’s highs will be in the mid-60s. We’ll be closer to 70° on Saturday and 75° on Sunday. The majority of the weekend will be dry. Those few showers early Saturday will be long gone before mid-morning and Sunday’s rain chances doesn’t arrive until well after sunset.
Cooler weather will return with some rain on Monday. Highs will return to the low 50s for Monday and Tuesday.
