Three-year-old girl dies in possible drowing in Montgomery County

A three-year-old girl has died after first responders were called for a possible drowing in Montgomery County, Maryland, police say.

First responders were called to the 10900 block of Burbank Drive about 5:30 p.m. Saturday for the report of a possible child drowning, police said.

They took the little girl to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

It wasn’t immediately known whether the girl lived at that address or what may have led up to the possible drowning. Police declined to provide any further details at this time.

An autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the girl’s cause and manner of death, but police said no foul play is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
