Del. Woman charged with stabbing, killing her mother in 2023, officials say

A woman was arrested and charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed her mother to death in 2023, according to the Delaware State Police.

Krista Rule, 46, is facing murder along with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony charges after being indicted by a grand jury earlier this week, officials said.

Police said that officers were called to Case Ridge Road on June 25, 2023, after it was reported that Denise Wood, 72, was found dead in her bedroom.

An investigation was conducted by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit who found that Wood had been stabbed to death and identified her daughter, Rule, as the suspect, police said.

Rule is being held at the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $2,100,000 cash bond.
