A Doylestown woman was sentenced to jail Wednesday for attacking a victim with a meat cleaver in 2025.
A Bucks County judge sentenced 51-year-old Robin McClain McNamara to one to two years in the Bucks County Correctional Facility followed by three years of probation after she was found guilty of felony aggravated assault and multiple misdemeanor charges in connection with the attack.
On July 12, 2025, officers responded to a home near South Main and State Streets in Doylestown and found McNamara with her clothes covered in blood, according to officials.
When asked about her appearance, officials said McNamara claimed the blood wasn’t hers, and instead belonged to person inside the property whose nose she believed she had broken.
However, officers found a victim suffering from severe head trauma, including a deep laceration that reached the skull, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
“I want to commend Deputy District Attorney Carrie Worton for her exceptional work in navigating this incredibly difficult and sensitive case,” District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Her work on this case ensured that the defendant was held accountable for this dangerous attack while securing the mental health mandates necessary to protect the public moving forward.”
As part of her sentence, McNamara is also required to undergo a mental health evaluation, complete mandated decision-making courses and maintain no contact with the victim.
