An investigation was underway on Tuesday after — what appeared to be — a body bag was wheeled out of a home in Gloucester Township, New Jersey, after a fire overnight.
On Tuesday, NBC10’s cameras captured crews working to move a body bag onto a stretcher after fire officials had been working overnight after a fire at a home along the 100 block of Freedom Way in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.
NBC10’s crews arrived at the scene at about 3:30 a.m., to find firefighters working as smoke poured from a three-story home.
A neighbor who lives on the block told NBC10 that she had been evacuated from her home at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
The body bag was seen being removed from the home just after 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
However, officials at the scene did not comment in the incident, saying only that police were at the scene to “secure the area.”
Contacted Tuesday, police officials did not immediately provide further information on the fire nor did they provide information about the body bag that was seen and they did not immediately say if anyone was injured in this incident.
However, as of about 6:15 a.m., fire officials and crews from the Camden County Prosecutors Office were still working on an investigation at the scene.
NBC10 is working to learn more.
