A woman has been hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene as she attempted to cross Broad Street in North Philly on Wednesday night, police said.
According to police, the incident happened at about 8:57 p.m. on Wednesday, when a 33-year-old woman was attempting to walk across Broad Street, midblock, near Wingohocking Street in North Philadelphia.
At that time, police said, she was struck by a silver Cadillac headed eastbound on Broad Street.
The driver of the vehicle, who was a man, according to police, stopped briefly and exited the vehicle, but, got back into the vehicle and sped away.
First responders to the scene took the woman to a nearby hospital where, officials said, she was listed in critical condition.
