A section of a boardwalk at the Jersey Shore has been renovated and is ready to welcome locals and visitors.
Ventnor City cut the ribbon Wednesday on roughly 20 blocks of revamped boards between Jackson Avenue and Cambridge Avenue.
Over the winter, crews replaced everything from pilings to the wood superstructure. The upgraded boardwalk also includes new pavilions, street end ramps, railings and lighting.
Part two of the $7.1 million project will replace the rest of the city’s boardwalk — from Suffolk Avenue to Jackson Avenue — next fall.
