A large plume of smoke could be seen over midtown Manhattan on Tuesday morning due to a reported fire not far from the start of the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Police and fire officials responded to a building near East 43rd Street and Sixth Avenue shortly before 10 a.m.
Police officials said the fire originated on the roof of a building under construction, potentially started by an air conditioning unit.
No tenants or residents currently live in the building.
