Firefighters battled a massive warehouse fire Sunday at an industrial complex in Belleville, New Jersey.
Flames shot out of a building on Cortland St. near Joralemon St.
Police and fire agencies in nearby communities warned residents of drifting smoke from the fire.
First responders are currently on scene at a large fire on Cortlandt Street between Holmes and Joralemon, including mutual aid from neighboring communities.
Mayor Michael Melham also posted videos of the fire on social media.
“Please avoid the area and allow our first responders to safely manage the situation,” urged City Council member Frank Velez III.
“I cannot stress enough how thick and unhealthy breathing this smoke can be. Please use caution,” he wrote on social media:
The Belleville Fire Dept. did not immediately release details on what may be stored inside the complex, of if there have been any injuries.
