Born on June 25, 1944, in Waukegan, Illinois, Carol grew up on the “Bunny Ranch” in Ingalls, Indiana.
She was the daughter of Harry and Caroline (Bunker) Sanderlin. Carol graduated from Pendleton High School in 1962 and married Tom Davis in 1963.
Together, they raised three children, creating a family that became the center of her life.
Carol spent many years working in the meat and deli department at Mace’s grocery store in Pendleton.
She loved music and was a devoted fan of today’s Elvis, Scotty Zion. Known for her kindness and thoughtfulness, Carol had a unique habit of sending greeting cards to everyone she knew, leaving a lasting impression on friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Steve) Hoskins and Donna Davis, both of Pendleton; six grandchildren, Shay (Mac) Rothstein, Kara (Andrae) Robinson, Shawn (Eddie) Frank, Katy (Joey) Byler, Danielle Davis, and Austin Davis; 12 great-grandchildren, Meleah, Steven, Kardell, Lilly, Jaevion, Owen, Allie, Zariah, Lucy, Molly, Betty, and Dorothy; and a special niece, Susie Smith.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Davis of Buford, Georgia.
A celebration of life for Carol, along with Tim and Debbie Davis, will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Good Shepherd Community Church, 3126 W. Market St., Huntsville, Indiana.
Pastor Claude Creel will officiate the service. Carol will be laid to rest at Mendon Cemetery in Pendleton, Indiana.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Paradigm Hospice, Mercy Home Care, and Heaven Sent Home Health for their compassionate care during Carol’s final days.
