A little over two months since the Seattle Seahawks downed the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl, the new season of the NFL is officially ready to kick off in full on Thursday night in Pittsburgh for the 2026 NFL Draft.
While the world’s worst-kept secret is that the Las Vegas Raiders will be selecting Heisman Award winner and national champion quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick, the fun begins after the Indiana signal-caller puts on the silver and black for the first time.
As we count down the clock until Thursday, per Kalshi, the prediction website, here are the frontrunners to get selected by the New York Giants at the No. 5 slot.

Caleb Downs (27%)
Over the past two months, it was actually Downs’ teammate, Sonny Styles, who was the frontrunner to go to the Giants at this position.
Yet, with time running out and the Giants getting a second top-10 first-round pick with their trade of Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals, things have changed.
Downs has shot up from 13% a week ago to take the slight advantage over Styles, with the two going back and forth.
Sonny Styles (26%)
If not Downs, it seems Styles will go to the Giants. Although it might not be the most exciting pick for Giants fans, they already have a young core on the offensive side, and the addition of Styles could be a boon if they want to challenge for the postseason this upcoming campaign in a deep NFC.
Jordyn Tyson (20%)
Or the Giants might go wild with their fifth overall and just add another elite weapon alongside Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers with the Arizona State Sun Devil.
The Giants love Tyson. They’ve met with him and are big fans of the physical receiver who could complement Nabers. But the Giants also have the No. 10 pick, where Tyson could easily slip to that spot.
Do they take the chance of allowing Tyson to get grabbed, or do they make the aggressive move by locking him down at their first possible chance?
