The Country Thunder Music Festival announced its move from St. Pete Beach to the Coachman Park in Clearwater on Tuesday. The event was met with backlash because it was set to happen during the seabird and sea turtle nesting season in front of the Tradewinds Resort. Since the event was going to happen on the beach, Country Thunder needed permits from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the city of St. Pete Beach.
